For those of you that don’t know me personally, I’ve lived up on the New South Wales Central Coast for the past 15 or so years. It is truly a beautiful location with a 10 minute drive to a major shopping mall, Tuggerah Westfield and about a 20 minute drive to some of the most beautiful beaches you will ever see!
After our long awaited wait for the Tesla Model 3 to arrive down under I have always had plans to predominantly charge from home with the included Tesla High Powered Wall Connector. I would be well covered by my 10.3kW solar system and two Tesla Powerwall 2 batteries. Where needed I figured for those road trips I could easily supercharge at either Artarmon or Broadway shopping center.
Today, I was tipped off (credit @rohan3au on Twitter) that Tesla would be installing superchargers at the Tuggerah Super Center, a home makers mall located about 10 minutes from my house and less than a 5 minute drive from the M1 motorway. For those not familiar with the area, the M1 motorway basically links Newcastle to Sydney with other motorways taking you all the way north to Queensland and south to Canberra and Victoria.
I was heading to the super center this morning for some breakfast anyway so thought I’d stop in and take a look!

This location is a very smart choice for Tesla, it adds in another well planned charging destination for those on a long road trip. It is also a great sign for the growing Tesla community on the Central Coast. I’m looking forward to seeing more and more Tesla’s.
